Wura-Natasha Ogunji

Wura-Natasha Ogunji is a sculptor who sews on paper.  Her current series of hand-stitched works is entitled Monuments.   The images, embedded in paper, create monuments to the sacred, to the ephemeral, to the intangible aspects of shared human experience.  Ogunji has been an Artist-in-Residence at Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic.  She has received grants from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the Brooklyn Arts Council.  Selected exhibitions include: The Oakland Museum of California, Intersection for the Arts and Galerķa de la Raza in San Francisco.  She lives in Austin, Texas.
